As a current special education teacher through the New York City Teaching Fellows, I design and implement differentiated instruction for students with autism in the Bronx, New York. My responsibilities also include administering assessments, overseeing grant proposals, and leading Individualized Education Program meetings with educational stakeholders to ensure that the needs of my students are met. Despite the challenges of teaching in a public school, it has been amazing to see the progress my students have made. Once I finish my Masters in Childhood Education this summer, I am hoping to find more opportunities to pursue my interest in international development and child advocacy.
